And like so is going the world. People in general love the comfort of being oppressed as much oppressors love that human character detail. Interesting, isn’t it? Imagine now what will be the world if Donald Trump is elected in USA…

Kim Jong-un
  1. Otherwise you won’t be able to see the point…
  2. A normal term duration is 4 to 5 years.

Habemus Praesidēns !!!

Running against very politically weak opponents, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa had to be elected the new president of Portugal. In fact, he was the only candidate with a solid political background. Furthermore, being 67 years old[1], very attached to one of the biggest political parties in Portugal[2], former government minister and member of parliament, law professor[3], journalist, political analyst and owner of a fluent speech mixed with an intelligent humor, Marcelo was doomed, in these elections, to be elected in the first round of voting and occupy the position of the 20th president of Portuguese republic[4] for the next five years.

Has he got my vote? Vote is secrete. Am I for him?
At least I give him the benefit of doubt…

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa
  1. Born in 12 December 1948.
  2. The Social Democratic Party (Portugal) or PSD.
  3. Licentiate, Doctorate, Cathedratic Professor.
  4. See List of Presidents of Portugal.

Cats & Cats

Charles Perrault and his 338º anniversary! How do I know this? Because I’m a Google user and this fact was there. My curiosity took me to find out who the hell was that gentleman. All of sudden I found out that some of my childhood favorite fairy tales were created by him, like:

But today I am much (much) older and naughty. Despite my profound respect for the Puss In Boots[6], including the superb version in Shrek, my naughtiness had to prevail. And then I found, while I was trying to know more about the fairy tales creator, the perfect marriage between my childhood’s comics and my adulthood’s naughtiness, having as connection point the nice cat. Furthermore, the English word “puss” brings me naughty thoughts as well, no matter the meaning I take[7].

Holy Communion, Holy Terror, Holy War

Is this turbulence, coming from the Middle East, really based on sacred motivations? Is DAESH[1] really the right side of Islamism and, on the other hand, all the rest of the Islamic world is wrong? Or, as many people think and say, is all this the result of the typical human greediness with what we have been since ever in holy communion? Are we, once again, using the concept of God and all dynamics around it to serve ourselves?

Charlie Hebdo massacre anniversary edition

Yes, we are. We are once again serving ourselves. Just that! The many and different powers in he world are now very busy with the self-comfort. Again! And again, and again, and always while human kind leads the world of the worlds. And the risk of a world wide war is up again, isn’t it? The difference now? The turbulence comes from that side of the world where poverty, ignorance and total lack of real hope has been disguised since centuries with the help of a horror fairy tale called Koran[2]. From this side, the occult powers[3] play slow and nicely with the congruences and incongruences of different interpretations of Koran in that side. The slow and nicest possible while playing with oil prices…

Religions have been a tool for social self-control. Other say “Die Religion … ist das Opium des Volkes”[4]. They may be now the fuse for societies self-destruction. Will any of us be able to keep apart from all that? Time will tell… I hope! Positively…

May the gods keep calm and cool…

  1. “ISIL”, “ISIS”, or “Islamic State group”, the utmost ruthless murders of modern times.
  2. As Bible is the fairy tale book of Christians, where horror is further controlled…
  3. They aren’t that much occult, are they?
  4. “Religion is the opium of the people”, a statement of German philosopher and economist Karl Marx, 1843.

Breaking Waves in 2016

New year, new life.
New expectations, new promises.
New wills, new reformulations.
Swimming to meet the waves. And breaking them…

For every time we fall down we do need to have learnt how to stand up again.
So help me the gods…

In English

Every breaking wave on the shore
Tells the next one there’ll be one more
And every gambler knows that to lose
Is what you’re really there for

Summer I was fearless
Now I speak into an answer phone
Like every fallen leaf on the breeze
Winter wouldn’t leave it alone
Alone

If you go
If you go your way and I go mine
Are we so
Are we so helpless against the tide
Baby, every dog on the street
Knows that we’re in love with defeat
Are we ready to be swept off our feet[1]
And stop chasing every breaking wave

Every sailor knows that the sea
Is a friend made enemy
And every shipwrecked soul knows what it is
To live without intimacy

I thought I heard the captain’s voice
But it’s hard to listen while you preach
Like every broken wave on the shore
This is as far as I could reach

If you go
If you go your way and I go mine
Are we so
Are we so helpless against the tide
Baby, every dog on the street
Knows that we’re in love with defeat
Are we ready to be swept off our feet
And stop chasing every breaking wave

The sea knows where are the rocks
And drowning is no sin
You know where my heart is
The same place that yours has been
And we know that we fear to win
And so we end before we begin
Before we begin

If you go
If you go your way and I go mine
Are we so
Are we so helpless against the tide
Baby, every dog on the street
Knows that we’re in love with defeat
Are we ready to be swept off our feet
And stop chasing every breaking wave

Em Português

Cada onda que se desfaz na praia
Diz à próxima que haverá mais uma
E cada jogador sabe que perder
É o que sempre pode acontecer

No verão eu me sentia destemido
Agora falo para um atendedor
Tal como cada folha arrancada pela brisa
Que o inverno não iria deixar sózinha
Sózinha

Se seguires
Se seguires o teu caminho e eu o meu
Estaremos

  1. “sweep me off my feet” it’s an English expression referring to the feeling that one gets when completely taken by someone or something, carried away, swept away (all emotionally). It’s also like making someone fall in love with you in a short amount of time.

Hello world! Again…

Roaming, free the speech is back but now with a new name, Zé Barbosa’s, and reshaped !!

New look, new structure. This blog will be just a bunch of articles of opinion about different topics and, additionally, a couple of things more about Zé Barbosa’s hometown and country. The internet radio nRP no longer resides here and other stuff which used to be part of the old website has also been removed in order to turn lighter the reading of actual website. Links to Facebook will also be present but this time without the too much hard and unfriendly Facebook[1] application.

May the gods be with all of us…

  1. Facebook is exaggeratedly demanding about their applications which is the main reason for us to get rid of it. Besides that, they do on their platform and require to its users too many updates and upgrades!

The End

This is to inform that blog section of this web site ends today!
No further posts will be written.
Our thanks to readers who dedicated some time of their lives to Roaming, free the speech
